Jim has had an affinity for the sea since watching Jacques Cousteau on TV as a child. With a background in Urban Design, Jim started working in glass three years ago and is currently based in Brighton, where his work increasingly focuses on making the creatures Jacque's adventures introduced him to.
Glass works equally well indoors or outside, and, because it is easy to clean and doesn't get damp, is especially useful for decorating difficult rooms such as kitchens and bathrooms. Pieces can be hung or attached to walls using the integrated wire hanging hooks. Glass is very resilient - the main thing to remember is, if fixing with a screw, not to tighten the screw too much as this can pull the wire away from the glass.
The kiln is powered by renewable energy and the artist is powered by plants, minimising the environmental impact of the making process, and ensuring no animals are harmed along the way.
5% of the artist's profits are donated to Sea Shepherd and Tower Hill Animal Sanctuary.
