Faceted Bowl by Freddie Crossley
Freddie Crossley works in Hampshire in the South Downs National Park among a community of artists and craftspeople at Rushmere Farm. His ceramic work seeks a deep-rooted connection to the past and future of our landscape. His consciousness that each piece is a marker of permanence within space and time inspires integrity and individuality in his craftsmanship. His motifs speak of grassy earth and windswept sea and stone, counterbalanced by refined form and sculptural presence.
Fascinated by the stories our possessions gather and the hands that hold them, Freddie works also as a puppeteer and puppet maker, musician, writer and painter, as well as being the Assistant Director at Theatre Royal Plymouth. His work uniquely bridges the spaces between visual art, theatre and domesticity.
"In all aspects of my work I want to make art that celebrates community and humanity, that speaks of beauty, hope, potential and truth in the face of global crisis."
