EOT Ceramics is the studio practice of Emily Olivia Tapp - a potter living and working from Cornwall. Emily makes wheel-thrown ceramics intended for daily use from her studio at Argal Home Farm, on the outskirts of Falmouth. Throwing with a smooth white stoneware clay, she mixes all her glazes from scratch using raw materials and her own carefully developed recipes to create a palette inspired by the coast - particularly places she loves in Cornwall. Emily’s glazes all have Cornish names - such as ‘Tewyn’ for sand dune, ’Mor’ for sea and ‘Niwl’ for mist.
The pieces are made with a big focus on everyday use and functionality. However, they are ceramics and they can break, so please handle your pieces with care to avoid breakages. Looked after properly, your ceramics should last for many years – Emily uses her own work every day. All of her pieces are high-fired stoneware and are dishwasher safe if packed with care. The gloss glazes on the interior of the pieces are highly resilient to marking or staining to allow for easy cleaning. All pieces are individually made by hand in small batches using natural materials so there may be subtle variation and differences in shape, size and glaze from piece to piece.
